2016 Firearms Industry Compliance Conference Garners High Praise
ATLANTA — Orchid Advisors, the firearm industry’s trusted compliance and operations experts, and the National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the firearms industry trade association, received high praise for the content of their 2016 Firearms Industry Compliance Conference (FICC), held May 2-4 in Atlanta.
Co-hosted by both organizations, this annual conference worked to provide manufacturers, distributors, importers and exporters, wholesalers and retailers with a comprehensive learning experience focused on current and anticipated regulations, new developments in product research and development that affect Federal Firearms Licensees (FFLs), and the processes and technologies these FFLs are using to significantly improve their business. Three learning tracks were available to those attending, as well as two pre-conference workshops that provided in-depth discussions on compliance and technology. Additionally, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) provided a number of breakout sessions throughout the conference, offering FFLs an opportunity to interact, ask questions and focus on proactive compliance.
“The Firearms Industry Compliance Conference has become a staple event in our industry, and we thank all participants and sponsors for their involvement. The level of interest and rapid growth is a clear demonstration of the industry’s desire for best-in-class, proactive compliance knowledge, rather than legacy reliance on defensive ATF insurance” says Jon Rydberg, CEO of Orchid Advisors. “No other event provides FFLs the opportunity to hear from the industry leaders at Orchid and NSSF, the ATF, NICS and industry practitioners in one setting. Next year’s event will be held in Washington, D.C., and we look forward to seeing everyone there.”
“We were very pleased to see the high level of interaction between the FFLs and the presenting speakers,” said Larry Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President and General Counsel. “This keen focus on compliance by all parties clearly demonstrates that ours is an industry dedicated to doing the right thing both on an individual level and as it pertains to the industry at large. It is this dedication that will ensure our industry’s ability to face the many challenges before us and come out ahead.”
The 2016 FICC gathered unprecedented industry support. Its many sponsors included Gold sponsor Epicor, Silver sponsor ASI Insurance Services, Business Automation Services of Minnesota and Savage Arms, and Bronze sponsors AccessAbility Services, Inc., AIRSCHOTT, Inc., Gary Wells, Firearms Attorney, and OCR Global Trade Management, and Lanyard sponsor Geissele Automatics. Orchid Advisors and NSSF extend their thanks to each of these sponsors for their contributions and the success of this important conference.
