SCTP has established a grant program to assist SCTP state directors and coaches with registration costs for SCTP-approved coach/instructor training classes. Applications will be accepted from April 1, 2008 through January 31, 2009.

The 2008 SCTP National Championships for skeet, sporting clays and trap will be held at the World Shooting & Recreational Complex in Sparta, Ill. The event will begin on July 31 with registration and practice for skeet and sporting clays. Skeet and sporting clays competition will be held Aug. 1 and 2. Two former SCTP standouts will represent the United States at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing. Corey Codgell has claimed the sole women's trap spot, and Vincent Hancock, 2007 World Cup record holder and Pan American Games gold medalist, will represent the U.S. in skeet.

Requests for squadding a team member to a higher division cannot be accommodated this season.

State directors may combine "incomplete" squads together to shoot at state championship events but these squads may not be considered for awards or prizes. More.

A single team fund-raising event to cover the team registration fee could prove to be the most productive and effective method for dealing with this expense. Alternately, the fee could be divided among the number of participants. A sample fee schedule for a trap team is available for your reference. The final determination regarding the best method for your team, of course, rests with team's head coach and their team members.

Attention SCTP Coaches. Your 2007 login ID and password has expired. To get a new login ID and password for the 2008 season, register your team records starting Nov. 15.
