NSSF Taps New Jersey’s Reloaderz NJ for Five-Star Rating
Located just 40 minutes from midtown Manhattan in the Passaic County suburb of Wayne, Reloaderz NJ is owned and operated by CEO Cheryl Nylen, CFO Shawn Crowley, COO Michael Nylen as well as the Chairman of the Board Per Nylen., It was Shawn and Michael, who saw the need for a premier indoor range facility that could provide an exceptional experience—and an exceptionally safe experience—to the region’s numerous firearm enthusiasts. Shawn and Michael took the idea of creating such a facility to Michael’s parents, who were both passionate about and active in the shooting sports.
“New Jersey is a tough place to be a firearm owner,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Director, Retail & Range Business Development. “To navigate the unwieldy regulations necessary to acquire a gun and the ammunition with which to use it is definitely a process, but despite all its restrictions, the state has legions of gun enthusiasts, active competitors and concealed carry permit holders. I applaud the Reloaderz NJ team for filling this need by creating an outstanding state of the art facility that supports these enthusiasts while welcoming new people through memorable experiences and first-class customer service.”
Reloaderz NJ is a climate-controlled indoor shooting facility of 15 25-yard lanes equipped with a scenario-programable target system from Action Target. Customers can create their own profiles and sign the range’s waiver via several iPad stations, and they’re also afforded a Lifetime Access Card for lane and firearm rentals that eliminates redundant and time-consuming paperwork every time they visit the range. The range is well-supported by a vast inventory of rental firearms and a well-appointed retail store stocked with ammunition, shooting accessories, optics and hundreds of firearms.
Though open to the public, membership is a big draw at Reloaderz NJ as it comes with a wealth of benefits including free Wi-Fi, plan-ahead lane reservations, free firearm transfers, guest passes, ammunition and training discounts and reduced firearm rental rates. A VIP lounge sports TV, comfortable sofas and vending machines, along with a wide-window view of the range. Both walk-ins and members have a dedicated concierge staff on-hand to meet their needs small, large and unique, and the range’s in-house gunsmith offers a wide range of basic services as well as customizations such as Cerakoting and slide machining.
A testament to the owners’ commitment to a safe shooting environment, Reloaderz NJ has an impressive list of classes. They address topics specific to firearm ownership in New Jersey (“Proper Firearm Storage and Transportation”), while also catering to the trends (“AR Assembly,” “Strategic Home Defense”) and fostering family involvement with women’s and youth classes. The range also regularly hosts bachelor and bachelorette parties, corporate networking and team-building workshops, junior police academy gatherings and even book clubs, baby showers and retirement parties, all of which draw in the greater northern New Jersey and urban New York City communities, exposing many who might not otherwise have ventured to an indoor range to experience the joys of shooting.
“Providing a premier experience for customers has been our goal since day one,” said Shawn Crowley, founder, co-owner and CFO of Reloaderz NJ. “All of the hard work has finally paid off as we’ve achieved the highest accolade available for a shooting sports facility. The Reloaderz NJ customer base will be proud to know the range they know and love has been chosen to receive this honor. We thank all our dedicated employees and loyal customers, for this accomplishment wouldn’t be the same without each and every one of you.”
About NSSF’s Star-Rating Range Program
NSSF’s highly respected Star-Rating Range Program works to encourage ranges of all sizes and locations to excel. Applying for rating requires answering a comprehensive questionnaire and business owner self-evaluation of the facilities, staff, community outreach and other criteria. Ranges that appear to meet the criteria for Four- or Five-Star rating receive an on-site evaluation by NSSF staff. NSSF member ranges that merit a Three-Star rating are recognized for being a part of the Star-Rating range family and are provided guidance to improve their facilities and achieve the higher two ratings.
