NSSF Commends Key Committee Passage
of Bipartisan Sportsman’s Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms and ammunition industry, today commended the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee for its passage Wednesday of the Bipartisan Sportsmen’s Act (S.659).

This comprehensive package of legislation includes several measures that benefit America’s hunters and target shooters and is a legislative priority for NSSF. Provisions of the legislation under the jurisdiction of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee were advanced last month.

“NSSF thanks all the Senators who voted to advance S.659,” said Larry, Keane, NSSF senior vice president and general counsel. “We take special note of the leadership of the bill’s sponsors, Chairwoman Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), for their leadership. We look forward to working with the Senate to address any concerns and to build more bipartisan support for this important legislation.”
