Good Coverage of ‘Don’t Lie’ Launch in El Paso
Watch the video accompanying this news story about yesterday's launch of the Don't Lie for the Other Guy campaign in El Paso, Texas. It gives a good overview of the program, in which NSSF assists the Bureau of Alchohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in educating firearms retailers on how to better detect and prevent illegal "straw" purchases of firearms. It's nice to see that the news video uses footage from NSSF's educational video for firearm retailers.
The program, which been active in U.S. cities along the Mexican border over the past year, also warns the public through billboard and other types of advertising that it is a serious crime to purchase a firearm for a prohibited person: "Buy a gun for someone who can't, and buy yourself 10 years in jail."
