Providing a comprehensive overview of firearm production trends spanning a period of 30 years (1993-2023), the 2025 edition Industry Intelligence Report is based primarily on the data sourced from the Bureau of Alcohol, tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ (ATF’s) annual Firearms Manufacturing and Export Reports (AFMER).

This report provides the most recent data available and is an update to the 2024 edition which reported 1992-2022 data. The 2025 edition is a comprehensive overview of firearm production trends over a 30-year period from 1993-2023. The production data is based primarily on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ (ATF’s) Annual Firearms Manufacturers and Export Reports (AFMER). This edition of the Firearms Production Report also includes firearm import/export statistics compiled from the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) to provide a more accurate picture of the historical production made available to the U.S. market.
