Fortune names 100 fastest-growing companies, two of which are in firearms industry
Two companies in the firearms and ammunition industry made Fortune magazine’s list of the 100 fastest-growing companies for 2010.
Olin Corp., maker of Winchester ammunition, is listed at No. 40. What Fortune had to say about the Clayton, Mo.-based company: “Winchester ammunition maker has found sales to police and the military to be its silver bullet in 2010.”
Connecticut-based gun maker Sturm, Ruger & Co. is listed at No. 67. Here’s what Fortune had to say about Ruger: “With a backlog of 181,000 unshipped units last year, gun manufacturer fired up production for a second year in a row.”
