2017 SHOT Business Awards Nominations Contest Opens

SHOT Business Editor Slaton White presents 2016 Person of the Year Award to David Baron.

Behind-the-scenes work for the 2017 SHOT Show is in full swing, here at NSSF headquarters in Newtown, Connecticut, and that means its time to open up our now annual nominations contest for the 2017 SHOT Business Awards. The contest was created in 2015 to better engage its members and improve feedback about those industry colleagues who most actively support the NSSF’s projects and mission.

Each year at SHOT Show®, NSSF’s trade publication, SHOT Business, recognizes those NSSF Members of the firearms industry who work the most diligently to promote the association’s programs and support our mission of promoting, protecting and preserving hunting and the shooting sports. Presented to those winners across manufacturer, distributor, retail and range categories and including the much-anticipated Person of the Year choice, the annual SHOT Business Awards, taking place at the SHOT Business luncheon on the second day of the show, are some of the most well regarded in the industry.

“Last year’s contest, the first of its kind in which NSSF encouraged its membership to choose the awards’ nominees, was a resounding success,” said Slaton White, Bonnier’s SHOT Business and SHOT Daily Editor. “We’re very much looking forward to this year’s presentations.”

To thank members for participating in these nominations, NSSF will award one lucky voter a complimentary first-class hotel stay on the Las Vegas Strip during the dates of the 2017 SHOT Show, January 17-20 (approximate retail value $600.00). Drawing open only to employees of NSSF member companies in good standing on date of entry who are 18 years of age or older. (NSSF individual supporters, non-NSSF members, and officers and directors of NSSF, their family members and persons living in their same households are not eligible to enter or win.)

This special contest opened June 15 and runs through September 15, 2016 to allow enough time for every NSSF member to tell us their stories of colleagues doing great work to promote NSSF’s mission during 2016. The winner of the first-class hotel stay will be randomly selected from all eligible entries after September 15, 2016. See complete drawing rules herePlease note: You will not be able to nominate your own business nor another business of the same or similar NSSF membership type. The contest is designed specifically so that manufacturer and distributor members may submit nominations only for best-in-class retailers and ranges, while range and retailer member submissions may nominate only those manufacturers and distributors they feel best support NSSF’s programs and missions.

Don’t let this chance for your voice to be heard pass you by. Cast your vote here—and we’ll see all of you in Vegas next January!
