Job Summary: 

DESCRIPTION:  The Product Manager is tasked with the vital function of driving the overall product road strategy and specific product development planning for the product line. Responsible for synthesizing information and input from the end user, market, distribution channels, and other sources with the capabilities and objectives of the organization to generate profitable winning products, grow sales and increase market share.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  Conduct semi-annual marketplace analysis, focusing on brand / category direct competition, to include analysis of competitors’ existing and new products, distribution, pricing (e.g. price positioning and discounts), programs and other developments. Create designated product line product road plans by considering product line strengths and weaknesses, market trends and predictions, historical sales volume, financial objectives, failures and opportunities, in conjunction with Beretta Italy and Beretta USA’s Strategic Plan. Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers. Stay abreast of related technological developments and feed into future product line direction. Be an active team member and leader in cross discipline Product Development work groups. Collect, analyze and report product feedback from field. Filter out isolated problems and document recurring problems that require product design intervention. Review and evaluate new product prototypes for approval of color, quality, and specification attributes (including functionality, performance, etc.) Develop or help develop new product instruction manuals with input from various departments. Identify and recommend value and product improvements to improve profitability while improving product performance for the end user. Develop new product training material/library with input from Product Development department. Report all new product ideas to V.P. of Product Development, through New Product Brief (NPB). Collect necessary inputs and forms to process special make requests to ensure technical viability and financial attractiveness. Approve and supervise marketing strategy and tactics. Develop pricing and promotion plans. Work closely with Beretta’s Marketing and Channel Marketing departments and agency on the development of the annual budget.
 
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor’s degree in related field, or Associate Degree with comparable work experience. Post graduate business degree desired. 3-5 year’s work experience in consumer durable product marketing roles. Marketing experience required. Firearms knowledge required and industry experience preferred. Computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to travel by car and plane for International travel, to attend trade shows, and to participate in writer’s camps and writer’s hunts.
