Firearm Ownership and Sport Shooting Participation in the U.S. in 2022 (2023 Edition)
A 110-page report based on a study conducted by Responsive Management for the NSSF to determine regional and national participation in target and sport shooting in 2022. This biennial study is based on 3,096 completed questionnaires collected from both online and telephone surveys of U.S. residents ages 18 and older. Historical information for 2012 – 2020 is included.

This report provides trend data from 2012 – 2022 on overall participation as well as category data for handgun, rifle and shotgun participation. Additional data on long-range and 3-gun participation is included as well.
