Virginians Suffering Consequences of Soros-Funded Prosecutors
At the exact moment Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger and a Democrat-majority legislature are ramming through additional gun control measures restricting the Constitutional rights of law-abiding Virginians, those responsible for putting bad guys who break the law behind bars are instead going easy and putting peaceful Virginians at risk. That includes the risk of getting murdered.
Tragically, it’s a familiar pattern when ties between top prosecutors and antigun billionaires are crystal clear. That would be George Soros and his Open Society Foundation — now led by his son, Alex. The Soros family isn’t just soft-on-crime. They’re virulently antigun, funding efforts to strip gun rights from law-abiding Americans and attack the industry that makes those rights possible.
Recently, and sadly, Virginians have suffered the consequences.
Avoidable Tragedy
Abdul Jalloh should’ve never been out in public. Jalloh, a Sierra Leone national who the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated was in the United States illegally, had a violent criminal record a country mile long, including 40 past charges in Virginia’s Fairfax County, a Washington, D.C., suburb, ranging from rape to assault, according to Fox News.
Jalloh was recently re-arrested after murdering Stephanie Minter at a bus stop. Jalloh was apprehended after security footage showed him exiting the bus and a member of the public called the police. After his arrest, records obtained through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request reveal the Fairfax County Police Department had warned Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano’s office about Abdul Jalloh.
The email exchange is telling, and chilling.
“I wanted to bring Mr. Jalloh’s release to your attention, because Mr. Jalloh is one of the repeat (and violent) offenders we discussed when we met,” a Fairfax County police major wrote to Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Descano’s office. “I wanted to get your background on why he is out so soon and ask if his prior suspended sentence (of I believe 5 years) was pursued by your office? Unfortunately, based on MTV Station’s numerous dealings with him, it is not a question of if, but rather when he will maliciously wound (or worse) again. My role of keeping the public safe, prompts me to follow up on his status.”
In 2025, Jalloh was the subject of more correspondence.
“[Jalloh] has been involved in multiple stabbing incidents with victims identifying him as the offender in these cases. This year JALLOH has been the offender in a malicious wounding where he stabbed a man in May 2025, in which he received a bond on July 31, 2025 — three weeks later, this incident occurred where he assaulted an older male and stomped his head into the ground,” a bond alert email from August 2025 from a Fairfax County police employee states.
WJLA reporter Nick Minnock described the avoidable tragedy succinctly in a post on X.com. “According to emails I obtained, Fairfax County police didn’t warn Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano’s office once, but at least three times last year about a violent illegal immigrant who is now charged with murdering a Virginia mother,” Minnock wrote.
Plain and simple, Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano — who has received significant political funding support from the Soros operation — has repeatedly gone easy on the worst of the worst and put Virginians lives in peril.
Long List
Jalloh, sadly, isn’t the only example of Attorney Descano’s despicable prosecutorial track record.
Robert Andrew Reed. Helena Little. Richard Cox. Hyrum Baquedano-Rodriguez. Wilmer Osmany Ramos Giron. Denis Humberto Navarette Romero. Jalloh. The list goes on and on.
Their interactions with and treatment by the attorney’s office are eerily similar and disturbing. These repeat criminals were all arrested, released, re-arrested and re-released numerous times all together and had criminal pasts that included stabbings, violent assaults, sexual assaults and rapes and more. All caught, all released by Descano’s office to go on and commit additional heinous crimes.
Seeded By Soros
George Soros and his son Alex have funded some of the most notorious soft-on-crime prosecutors you’ve likely heard of over the past few years. In California, San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin was propped up by Soros funding, but even voters in that progressive paradise had enough and recalled Boudin, giving him the boot in 2022.
To the north, incumbent Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt was roundly rejected by voters in 2024 who instead threw their support to a new DA, a former Republican who previously served in DA Schmidt’s office and who promised “to get tougher” on criminals and rejected his former boss’s leniency agenda. Soros had backed and funded Scmidt’s campaigns.
Of course, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is known for “earning” the support of the Soros Operation, as well as New York Attorney General Letitia James.
How does Fairfax County Commonwealth Attorney Steve Descano stack up in winning the approval and dollars from the Soros machine? According to the Fairfax Times, it’s significant.
“Campaign finance records compiled by the Virginia Public Access Project show that the Justice and Public Safety PAC, which has been funded in part by billionaire financier George Soros, spent more than $600,000 supporting Descano during his successful 2019 Democratic primary campaign,” the website reported. “According to the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund, Soros has provided over $700,000 in funding.” The New York Post highlighted the connection as well.
Senior Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute Tim Carney laid out the connections too, noting that Descano only originally won his position by just 1,500 votes after raising approximately $1 million in campaign funds, two-thirds of which came from Soros accounts.
Same Tune, Different City
In Norfolk, Virginia, at Old Dominion University, an alleged gunman killed one victim while attempting to carry out a larger tragedy. Alleged murderer Mohamed Jalloh was killed during his attack but his past record indicated he was a former National Guardsman and naturalized citizen from Sierra Leone, who was previously sentenced in 2017 for attempting to provide material support to ISIS — the terrorist group. Records reveal he was released by the Federal Bureau of Prisons in late 2024 during the Biden administration.
Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney Ramin Fatehi, no surprises a significant beneficiary of Soros funding, criticized law-abiding gun owners and pro-Second Amendment legislators following Jalloh’s attack, instead of the ISIS terrorist sympathizer.
“This is a national sickness,” Attorney Fatehi spouted. “We live in a country where people care more about guns than they care about 6-year-old children. They care more about guns than they care about synagogue worshipers. And they care more about guns than they do about college students.” He continued but it’s not worth giving him more ink.
The “national sickness” he refers to is not law-abiding gun owners or lawful gun ownership. It’s heinous and sick criminals who are allowed to terrorize, kill and harm innocent Americans because of impotent and weak people choose to release them instead of keeping them behind bars.
George and Alex Soros funding is behind it all. Meanwhile, peaceful supporters of the Second Amendment will keep fighting for their Constitutional right to armed protection.
