Orchid and Williams Mullen Donate $15,000 in Support of NSSF’s Project ChildSafe at Firearms Industry Conference

ATLANTA — At the Firearms Industry Conference taking place here April 26-27, hosts Orchid and Williams Mullen demonstrated their outstanding support for promoting responsible gun ownership by making a gracious donation of $15,000 to the Project ChildSafe® Foundation.

The contribution will help support NSSF’s Project ChildSafe firearm safety education program, the largest and most comprehensive firearm safety initiative in the country. Project ChildSafe is a program of NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association.

Jon Rydberg, CEO of Orchid, Charles E. “Chuck” James, Jr., and Camden Webb, partners at Williams Mullen, presented the generous donation to Zach Snow, NSSF’s Director of Member Development.

As organizers of the Firearm Industry Conference, Orchid and Williams Mullen pledged to donate a portion of conference registration and sponsorship proceeds to support Project ChildSafe. “NSSF extends its deep appreciation to Orchid and Willams Mullen, and to the attendees of this conference, for supporting our nationwide gun safety efforts through Project ChildSafe,” said Snow during remarks at the conference.

With millions of new gun owners—including 5.4 million in 2021 alone—seeking guidance on how to safely handle and store their firearms when not in use, the demand for Project ChildSafe’s safety resources is greater than ever. Donations such as Orchid’s and Williams Mullen’s help the program meet the extraordinary number of requests for its safety tools.

Project ChildSafe’s gun locks and educational materials are available to any community free of charge. The program has partnered with more than 15,000 law enforcement departments since 1999, and it has distributed more than 40 million firearm safety kits that include a cable gun lock and safety brochure.

In addition to law enforcement, city leaders, industry supporters and national organizations help Project ChildSafe spread the message of genuine gun safety that can help prevent firearm-related accidents, theft and misuse, including suicide.
