NSSF Initiatives

NSSF not only monitors activities on legislative and regulatory levels, but develops and implements strategies to address challenges the industry faces and educate lawmakers and members of the industry. Some initiatives are achieved through strategic partnerships, like the Don’t Lie for the Other Guy national campaign to prevent and discourage illegal “straw man” purchases of firearms. Other programs, like FixNICS, are spearheaded by NSSF in an effort to encourage states to report to NICS all records that establish someone is prohibited from owning a firearm under current law.
