NSSF Hails President Trump’s National Shooting Sports Month Message

WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF^®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, hails President Donald Trump’s Presidential Message celebrating National Shooting Sports Month^® posted by The White House this morning. The firearm industry celebrates President Trump’s commitment to preserving Second Amendment rights and is enthusiastically encouraged by his pledge to keep alive the American tradition of responsible firearm ownership for law-abiding citizens for future generations.

“What a difference an election makes. We now have a White House administration that celebrates our national character of responsible firearm ownership and the freedoms that ‘define our Republic,’ which is a sea change from the previous administration that attacked our Second Amendment rights and demonized the firearm industry,” said Joe Bartozzi, President and CEO of NSSF. “The firearm industry is grateful to President Trump for his commitment to protecting our liberties and freedoms and his celebration and encouragement of all Americans to participate in the shooting sports.”

President Trump’s message highlighted the characteristics of “focus, discipline, and confidence” that lawful firearm ownership and shooting sports participation instills in citizens. President Trump reiterated his promise to defend Second Amendment freedoms that he made during the campaign for office with his recent National Shooting Sports Month message when he stated, “For as long as I am President, the Federal Government will abide by the premise that the God-given right to bear arms shall not be infringed.”

Now in its ninth year, National Shooting Sports Month encourages all Americans to experience the excitement of target shooting while promoting safe and responsible firearm use. Ranges, retailers, manufacturers and industry partners across the country are joining forces to host special events, training sessions and promotions throughout the month.
