NSSF’s “Make Sure It’s Secure” Continues After Gun Storage Check Week

Win free gun safes at GunStorageCheck.org

WASHINGTON, D.C.—There’s still time to participate in Gun Storage Check Week and to enter the Gun Storage Check Week® Sweepstakes to win a lock box before the national campaign, run by NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, ends on Saturday, June 7.

Gun Storage Check Week highlights the messages of “check on your firearm storage practices” and “Make Sure It’s Secure.” The goal is to remind gun owners and their families that hiding firearms or placing guns where unwanted hands can reach them creates a risk for firearm-related accidents, suicides or thefts. Such bad outcomes are preventable by securing firearms when they’re not in use with a lockable storage device, such as a cable lock, lock box or gun safe.

Visitors to the GunStorageCheck.org website can enter to win a firearm safety products bundle donated by Regal Products that includes a firearm lock box. There’s no cost to enter the Gun Storage Check Week Sweepstakes, and those who do enter can gain extra entries by watching a video on the rules of firearm safety, secure storage in vehicles or suicide prevention.

The Gun Storage Check Week Sweepstakes continues each week in June with gun safe prizes donated by Vault Pro, Regal Products and ShotLock.

A promotional toolkit is available at GunStorageCheck.org for any individual or group that wants to help promote the week’s safety messaging.

“The message of “Make Sure It’s Secure” doesn’t end at the conclusion of Gun Storage Check Week. Safety is a habit—one that gun owners take pride in practicing and sharing year-round,” said Joe Bartozzi, NSSF President and CEO.
