Veteran Range Professional Dennis Rohman To Join 2016 SHOT Show University Speaker Roster

When designing the curriculum for our Retailer Seminars and SHOT Show University, one of our primary points of focus is on that of ATF Compliance. Shooting range owners, though, also need to be well informed on compliance, regulations and planning related to OSHA—Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

With that in mind and with the addition last year of a new Premium Range membership, as well as the growing number of retailers assessing the benefits of adding a shooting range to their enterprises, we saw the need for a SHOT Show University learning track devoted to this area. So, in addition to several other components, those taking part in the Range Development learning track will participate in the presentation “Avoid OSHA Hell with the Right Book.” Presented by industry veteran Dennis Rohman, owner of P2K Range in El Cajon, California, this discussion will focus on what today’s shooting range owners and operators need to do to keep their customers and staff healthy and their ranges environmentally safe through planning that works to avoid the costly fines associated with OSHA inspection failures.

Backed by more than 30 years in the firearms industry, Rohman is  former U.S. veteran who opened P2K more than a decade ago. A multi-purpose facility that includes shotgun sports, ranges for law enforcement training and an expansive retail presence that sees annual foot traffic surpassing 130,000. An avid competitive shooter who also hunts, Rohman developed his highly successful business to accommodate families, corporations and new shooters, and he maintains a large staff that is 80-percent female.

Registration for the 2016 SHOT Show and SHOT Show University are now open. Following last year’s success with ticket restructuring, once again NSSF will offer its Premium Retailer members one complimentary ticket to SHOT Show University. Tickets for any other NSSF member level and additional tickets for Premium Retailer members are $250. Non-NSSF members are welcome to attend, with a ticket price of $500. This event is always a sell-out, so retailers are urged to complete their registration for the show and SHOT Show University as soon as possible.
