Triangle Shooting Academy Earns NSSF Five-Star Rating

NEWTOWN, Conn. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the trade association for the firearms industry, is pleased to announce that it has presented its highest Five-Star rating for range excellence to Triangle Shooting Academy.

five star range Triangle shooting AcademyLocated in the thriving metropolitan area of Raleigh, North Carolina, the expansive, 41,000 square-foot facility has been open just three years but has set the bar for others in the area. The range comprises 33 25-yard lanes, all of which feature 360-degree turning target carriers, special soundproofing that enhances the shooting experience inside the range and an advanced lighting system that can accommodate a variety of training situations, including those that include black light. An extensive library of rental guns, including a full complement of submachine, machine and belt-fed machine guns and models equipped with suppressors, serves the dual purpose of allowing some patrons to simply have fun with something new while those in the market for their next purchase get a chance to test drive models they’re considering.

Triangle’s range rarely sees a slow moment. Open to the public, its well-designed membership program is a big draw for Raleigh shooters thanks to a bevy of value-added benefits beyond the elimination of daily or hourly range fees, including discounts on firearm transfer fees, accessory purchases, training classes and firearm rentals, as well as welcome gifts, guest range passes and a free machine gun rental on each member’s birthday. Corporate and lifetime VIP members also have access to a well-appointed VIP lounge. A jam-packed calendar of instruction classes, private instruction and special events such as Thursday date nights and its Women of Triangle Shooting Academy gathering have provided a true sense of community for area target shooters, while the gleaming, tastefully appointed retail store offers a bonanza of firearms, ammunition and gear for those passionate about the shooting sports.

“This facility has it all — emphasis on all,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Director, Retail & Range Business Development. “No detail was left unexamined in the planning process before opening in 2016, and that commitment to excellence shows itself every day in the amenities Triangle provides, the level of customer service the staff delivers and the enjoyment on the faces of its many, many customers. This is a range that puts the ‘excel’ in ‘excellent.’”

“Families across the Triangle and beyond have put their trust in Triangle Shooting Academy for their training expertise, firearm purchases and much more, and we have trained more than 10,000 guests through our extensive class offerings,” said Bill Edwards, co-founder and co-owner. “We are pleased to have earned the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s Five-Star designation. Our goal at TSA, is to make sure every guest is treated to the highest standards and leaves with a smile on their face. To achieve this designation validates our business model, and we are very grateful to our guests.”

NSSF’s highly respected Star-Rating Range Program works to encourage ranges of all sizes and locations to excel. Applying for rating requires answering a comprehensive questionnaire and business owner self-evaluation of the facilities, staff, community outreach and other criteria. Ranges that appear to meet the criteria for Four- or Five-Star rating receive an on-site evaluation by NSSF staff. NSSF member ranges that merit a Three-Star rating are recognized for being a part of the Star-Rating range family and are provided guidance to improve their facilities and achieve the higher two ratings.
