President Picks a Director For the A.T.F.

President Obama has nominated Andrew Traver, special agent in charge (SAC) of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive’s Chicago field division, to become the next director of ATF.   Though the position requires Senate confirmation, a director named by the White House is able to serve as “acting director” indefinitely.   NSSF will be following this confirmation process closely.
