OSHA Expert Ethan Ware to Speak at SHOT Show University

I am pleased to announce that OSHA expert and legal consult Ethan Ware will be moderating one of the four sessions included in the newest learning track of the 2016 SHOT Show University—our Range Development Track.

Currently an attorney with the Columbia, South Carolina-based law firm of Williams Mullen, Ware represents businesses and industries in environmental and health and safety legal matters. He has appeared on behalf of businesses in negotiations relating to environmental permits, in defense of environmental and OSHA enforcement actions by state and federal agencies, in defense of toxic tort lawsuits and on behalf of industry in criminal and civil environmental actions. Ware’s practice also includes review of environmental issues in transactions and environmental and health and safety training and auditing programs. In addition, Ware has authored many articles on timely environmental issues for the South Carolina publication, Business Journal and the South Carolina Law Journal. He is also past President of the Natural Resources and Environmental Section of the South Carolina Bar.

Ware will be presenting the session “Are You Ready for an OSHA Inspection?” During this presentation, attendees will gain a better understanding of the complex regulations and compliance issues facing today’s shooting ranges. Designed for range owners and operators of all experience and retail FFLs exploring the possibility of adding a shooting range to their business, the session will cover topics such as minimizing lead exposure for employees, vetting a lead reclamation company, and waste management and disposal practices, among others.

The 2016 SHOT Show University will take place January 18, the day before the show opens. Registration for this event is now open to retailers and exhibitors whose applications to attend the show have been approved. NSSF Premium Retailer members are permitted one complimentary ticket to the event. Tickets for all other NSSF member and additional tickets for Premium Retailer members are $250.
