Prepare Today

Did you know OSHA wants to visit every range by the end of 2015? Did you know that the average range fines are over $20,000?

To help shooting range managers develop safe and healthful workplaces in compliance with key OSHA regulations, NSSF will present Lead Management and OSHA Compliance Workshops on March 17-19 in St. Louis and April 7-9 in Atlanta.

Compliance violations could cost a range thousands of dollars in lost productivity, significant fines and penalties, cleanup costs and potential criminal prosecution. The cumulative effect of non-compliance could force a business to shut down.

“The ever-changing nature of OSHA regulations makes it crucial for range managers and their staffs to be informed, prepared and proactive when it comes to effectively managing a range from a health and environmental standpoint,” said Zach Snow, NSSF’s manager of shooting promotions.

In highly interactive and informative two-day workshops, attendees will hear from knowledgeable experts on topics that include:

  • Case Study–Welch Group Environmental
  • Compliance
  • Environmental Protection Agency and Occupational Safety and Health Administration
  • Elements of Management Safety and Health Plan
  • OSHA Enforcement and Penalty Structure
  • Medical Surveillance and OSHA Record Keeping
  • Hazard Communication
  • Best Management Practices for OSHA Compliance
  • Environmental Laws and Regulations Applicable to Gun Ranges

The presenting experts have hands-on experience in the fields of environmental law related to shooting ranges, OSHA compliance and inspection, and lead reclamation and range maintenance. They will cover what can happen when a range is not in compliance, and they will provide recommended compliance strategies to protect your business for years to come.

Early bird registration for NSSF members by Feb. 25 is $350. After that date, registration for NSSF members is $399, non-members $695 and state/federal agency $350.
