NSSF Announces New +ONE Movement Industry Promotional Tools

NEWTOWN, Conn. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the trade association for the firearms industry, is pleased to announce that it has expanded its library of +ONESM Movement promotional resources. Launched in 2019, the +ONE Movement is a nationwide initiative that encourages hunters and target shooters to introduce someone new to firearms and the shooting sports.

All firearms industry stakeholders are encouraged to participate directly in the +ONE Movement. Manufacturers and distributors, for instance, can partner with a local range and host +ONE introductory events such as First Shots® for non-shooting employees or employee friends and family members. Retailers and ranges can work directly with their staff, customers and members to grow participation by holding dedicated +ONE shooting events, promotions or contests that inspire them to bring someone new. To help build off these ideas, NSSF has created a number of new resources to assist businesses in raising awareness while showcasing its +ONE Movement efforts, including:

  • Banners, Posters, Gun Mats and Tent Cards — Retailers and ranges can display these on countertops, store and clubhouse walls and other high-visibility, high-traffic customer areas, while manufacturers, distributors and others in the supply chain can use them throughout the workplace and in break rooms.
  • Selfie Frames — The selfie is as popular as ever, and new retail and range customers using +ONE selfie frames and posting to social media help spread the word to other non-shooters about how inclusive and enjoyable the shooting sports are. Remember to have your customers use the #PlusOneMovement and #LetsGoShooting hashtags when they post their +ONE selfies to all their social media platforms.
  • Stickers and Challenge Coins — Having a memento of a great day at the range or in the field can go a long way towards encouraging return activity. Give the stickers to those who’ve had a great first time on your range or taken their first firearms safety class, while also rewarding mentors who’ve taken the time to pay it forward with NSSF’s special +ONE Challenge coins.
  • Online Marketing Toolkit — A collection of free, downloadable +ONE logos, branding activation guides, scripted social media posts, digital ads, public service announcements and professionally photographed range and hunting images for use in marketing and social media communications.

“Everyone who enjoys target shooting or hunting remembers the person who introduced them,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Director, Retail and Range Business Development. “The +ONE Movement is, perhaps, our greatest gesture of goodwill, our pay it forward, but it’s also an effort that speaks to the longevity and sustainability of our industry. Get your business or organization involved today and use these new +ONE resources to amplify this message while activating gun owners to do their part by introducing someone new. Together, we can make a difference.”
