Newest Bronze Sponsor of NSSF’s Rimfire Challenge is Civilian Marksmanship Program

NEWTOWN, Conn. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF®) is pleased to announce that the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) is the newest Bronze-level sponsor of the Rimfire Challenge. With its highest priority of serving youth shooters through safety and marksmanship programs, the federally chartered CMP is a leader in shooting instruction and the promotion of best safety practices for U.S. citizens of all ages and walks.

Formerly known as the Ruger Rimfire Challenge, today’s Rimfire Challenge is a program of the NSSF, the trade association for the firearms, ammunition, hunting and shooting sports industry. Available at ranges across the nation, the Challenge focuses on competition with .22-caliber rifles and pistols. Designed to introduce new shooters to the shooting sports in an exciting and family friendly way, the Rimfire Challenge is open to shooters of all ages and abilities, with a match format that emphasizes safety, fun, and support for newcomers.

“It’s a pleasure to support the NSSF’s Rimfire Challenge,” said Mark Johnson, CMP Deputy Chief Operating Officer. It dovetails perfectly with our mission to encourage all American citizens who wish to learn marksmanship to do so, particularly our youth. We’ll definitely encourage our affiliated clubs to take up the Challenge and look forward to holding the Rimfire Challenge at our new Talladega Marksmanship Park when it opens next spring.”

“Having the CMP join the roster of sponsors for the Rimfire Challenge fully demonstrates just how important this competition structure has become to American shooters, said Zach Snow, NSSF Manager of Shooting Promotions. “We are very happy to have this organization partner with us and help promote these exciting matches.”
