Improve Your Long-range Hunting and Shooting Skills with NSSF’s Latest Series of Rifle Tips

From the expert training staff at Storm Mountain Training Center in Elk Garden, W.Va., NSSF brings you a trio of long range rifle tips that will help you and a friend connect with more targets both at the shooting range and afield.

The first tip in the series, “Trace,” will help you become a more efficient shooter. Trace, as it’s commonly known to long range shooters, is the wake a bullet creates as it travels through the air. Knowing how to spot bullet trace will allow both the spotter and shooter to make the appropriate adjustments to put the next round on target quickly. Watch the video and see bullet trace in action.

The second tip in the series, “Teamwork,” implies just that – spotters and shooters that develop good communication and work as a cohesive team ultimately connect with more targets downrange. The goal is for the shooter to be relaxed and prepared, while the spotter provides all of the tools to make that happen. To achieve confidence as team, the key is to practice. Watch the video then find a range near you and remember to invite a friend.

The third tip in the series, “Windage,” will bring you up to speed on what to look for when shooting in windy conditions. Be among the first to watch “Windage,” when it premiers this December and to receive alerts when new videos become available by subscribing to the NSSF YouTube channel.
