Objectives included establishing FHF mentoring program in five more states, recruiting additional 300 background-checked mentors, establishing 20 additional chapters, recruiting and training five additional volunteer state and/or regional directors, accomplish at least 3000 mentored days helping train hunting skills or have actual mentored hunts.

Partnered with two colleges in 2019 and added a third in 2020 to provide R3 programming to students with limited or no hunting experience. Each program included classroom curriculum, shooting training, a mentored hunt, and a follow up meal.

The NSSF grant has allowed us to reach a larger audience through our new Women on the Wing initiative. We have hosted traditional Learn to Hunt and Learn to Shoot events, along with new weekend experiences that provides an immersive and social experience for mentees. Additionally, we were able to host a Hunter Mentor Training and Women’s Learn to Wing-shoot sessions at our National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic to reach a larger and more diverse audience.
