[Webinar] Advancing Cyber Resilience Roundtable
Advancing Cyber Resilience: Crisis Management & Incident Response for Firearm Retailers
This webinar was held on Monday, July 20 at 3:00 p.m. ET
While most firearm retailers have established plans for physical emergencies like power outages or storm damage, digital disruptions require a similar level of preparedness. A payment network outage, vendor failure or ransomware attack can halt store operations just as effectively as a physical lock on the door.
NSSF, as part of its Project CyberSafe™ initiative, partnered Fellsway Group CEO Steve Leventhal for a 60-minute interactive roundtable with veteran firearm retailers and range operators Russel Rhodes (Neuse Sport Shop) and Brian Sisson (The Range Companies). Drawing on insights from the 2025 CMIR Survey, we will examine how retailers and range operators prepare for, respond to and recover from cyber disruptions — including ransomware, payment system outages, vendor incidents and data exposure — while sharing practical operational strategies tailored to your shop.
A few of the operational strategies we’ll cover:
- When Screens Go Blank: What veteran retailers prioritize first to keep compliance from slipping during a sudden system outage.
- Testing Your Readiness: How our guests use “digital fire drills” to ensure their teams are prepared to pivot when technology fails.
- The Manual Game Plan: Practical workarounds to keep transactions and operations moving when the main system goes completely offline.

Roundtable host Steve Leventhal (Fellsway Group) and veteran firearm retailers and range operators Russel Rhodes (Neuse Sport Shop) and Brian Sisson (The Range Companies) share perspectives, compare approaches and help you build a stronger resilience framework for your store.
