Does Your Business Make You Happy? It Should

Most self-made entrepreneurs begin their businesses because they have a passion for what they do. If you’re attending NSSF’s Range-Retailer Business Expo as an owner of an FFL storefront or range, you undoubtedly have a passion for firearms and the shooting sports. Sure, the ultimate goal is to make money and support your desired lifestyle away from your business — but you wouldn’t have opened up a firearm-related business if you didn’t have a passion for the industry.

At some point for almost any business owner, the daily mechanics of owning and operating an enterprise can become a grind. When the joy disappears from what you do, it’s just a job. You lose your passion, followed by your employees, and while the cash register may still be ringing consistently you’re opening the doors every morning wondering, “Why am I here?”

It doesn’t have to be that way. Hank Yacek will show you how you can have it all — happiness and a profitable, thriving business — in his presentation “Interests and Aspirations.” One of the most requested speakers at our annual SHOT UniversityTM, Yacek has more than three decades in the firearms industry ranging from time at a small brick-and-mortar FFL, to owning his own store and retail development leadership positions. Today he owns and runs Point of Impact Firearms Range & Retail Consulting. During this session, you’ll get a glimpse of the expertise he delivers in his work with FFL and range owners every day. More importantly, you’ll discover the tools that pair a profitable business model with what makes you happy to turn over the “Open for Business” sign each day.
