Who will be the next leader of the Democrats in the Senate?
Though recent weeks have shown Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) making strides in what will be a very difficult reelection bid – strides that are largely attributable to a tightening Republican primary – political reporters are already focusing attention on Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) as the next leader of the democrats in the Senate. Under Reid’s watch, pro-gun legislation including right to carry in National Parks and on Amtrak passed the Senate easily, while anti-gun legislation never saw the light of day. Should Sen. Schumer, an NRA F-rated candidate with a long record of pushing anti-gun legislation, become the next leader of the Senate Democrats, gun owners would likely be in for a change.
