Tennessee’s Nashville Armory Receives NSSF Five-Star Rating
NEWTOWN, Conn. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the firearms industry trade association, is pleased to announce that it has awarded Tennesee’s Nashville Armory the organization’s highest Five-Star rating. Located in the heart of Music City, the expansive range and retail store was founded in September 2012 by Gary Semanchik.
“Nashville Armory was an impressive range when we awarded it our highest rating under our previous evaluation program, but ‘impressive’ almost seems underwhelming now,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Director, Range Services. “Not only does Nashville Armory serve as a model of what a modern, user-friendly range should look like, its community outreach is something to be envied. We couldn’t be more pleased to have them join our all-new Five-Star family.”
Open seven days a week, the heart of the 14,000 square-foot Nashville Armory is a 16-lane, state-of-the art range that accommodates handguns, rifles and full-auto firearms. The spotlessly clean range features a ventilation system that exports air cleaner than the air outside the store itself, a touch screen-activated, fully automated target control system, booths roomy enough to comfortably accommodate a student and instructor, and sound dampening materials that enhance each shooter’s time on the range and minimize the impact on customers in the adjacent retail store. That retail store features an eye-popping firearms inventory, enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff and accessories to meet the needs of any sport shooter or hunter who walks through the door. A large complement of rental firearms and an extensive firearms training roster round out Nashville Armory’s in-store features — but that’s not where it begins and ends.
“One of the criteria crucial to earning our full five stars is how a range works to be a respected member of its community,” explained Snow. “Not only are the owners and staff absolutely dedicated to passing on firearms safety and the knowledge it takes to be a responsible gun owner, they are committed to giving back to their city. Nashville Armory donates a part of its profits to Camp Sycamore Creek, a non-profit camp for inner-city children, and it regularly lends its support to All God’s Anointed People Everywhere (AGAPE), Youth Engagement Services, Reach Out, Healing Hands and the Boy Scouts of America.”
“We are honored to be ranked as a Five-Star Range by the National Shooting Sports Foundation,” said Kennan Sanders General Manager and co-owner of the range. “We appreciate all the things NSSF does to help us as retailers better serve our customers, and we look forward to working together in the future to help grow the shooting sports in the greater Nashville community.”
NSSF’s highly respected Star-Rating Range Program works to encourage ranges of all sizes and locations to excel. Applying for rating requires answering a comprehensive questionnaire and business owner self-evaluation of the facilities, staff, community outreach and other criteria. Ranges that appear to meet the criteria for Four- or Five-star rating receive an on-site evaluation by NSSF staff. NSSF member ranges that meet a Three-star rating are recognized for being a part of the Star-Rating range family and are provided guidance to improve their facilities and achieve the higher two ratings.
