Store Your Guns Safely
Although this KSBW news video does not mention that the National Shooting Sports Foundation developed and manages Project ChildSafe, it nevertheless does a good job raising awareness of the program’s message: that safely storing firearms in the home can help prevent accidents involving children.
A nationwide firearm safety education program, Project ChildSafe makes gun locks and safety brochures available to all law enforcement agencies, which in turn distribute the safety materials free of charge to gun owners in their communities.
More than 35 million gun lock safety kits have been distributed by Project ChildSafe through funding from U.S. Department of Justice grants and the firearms industry.
The program’s website is www.projectchildsafe.org.
