Sponsors Credited with High Quality, Record Number of Retailer Seminars

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — NSSF® held a record number of Retailer Seminars during the 2020 SHOT Show®, expanding the learning opportunities from 12 to 20 highly interactive sessions. The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms industry, owns and operates the SHOT Show, which includes the SHOT UniversityTM and Retailer Seminar educational forums for FFL retailers and range owners.

Retailer Seminar SponsorsA wide variety of topics were presented during the Retailer Seminars that started on Tuesday, the first day of the 2020 SHOT Show, and ran through Thursday. Those topics ranged from:

“How to Monetize Your Range Metals, a discussion of how firearms ranges can turn lead and other precious metal waste into profits; one of the most effective ways to make sure counter staff are delivering the best customer service possible with “Secret Shoppers: A Creative Way to Improve the Customer Service Experience;” and two dedicated social-media sessions, “Organic Facebook Marketing” and “Leveraging Your Brand Ambassadors,” among others.

A special seminar, “Calling All California FFLs: Preparing for Your State’s DOJ Inspection,” was added to the schedule to help FFLs there negotiate the growing labyrinth of restrictions and regulations that are anything but golden in the Golden State, and both NSSF’s Government Relations Team Update seminar and the annual ATF Town Hall delivered to standing-room-only audiences. New this year to the Retailer Seminar lineup was a mentorship workshop in which experienced retailers and range owners and the members of NSSF’s Retail and Range Services team partnered with new business owners to provide a wealth of guidance from the “been there, done that” perspective.

“We are thrilled we were able to expand the number of Retailer Seminars we offer during SHOT Show, something that addressed the requests if many FFLs and range owners for more of these short-format learning experiences that are easy to fit in between booth meetings, ” said John McNamara, NSSF Senior Director, Retail and Range Services.

Four sponsors stepped up to enable the Retailer Seminar expansion during the 2020 SHOT Show. Those sponsors include:

“NSSF extends its sincere thanks to the sponsors whose contributions went a long way in enabling us to accommodate the added seminars this year,” said McNamara. “These companies understand the importance of our retailers and range owners as the lynchpin between the goods our manufacturers produce and the consumers on the other side of the counter. I encourage everyone who attended one of these sessions to get to know these companies and thank them for their commitment to their success.”
