Smith & Wesson Signs On As Platinum Sponsor of NSSF Retailer Seminar Series
NEWTOWN, Conn. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®) is pleased to announce that Smith & Wesson has agreed to sponsor NSSF’s 2015 Retailer Seminar series at the Platinum level. Founded in 1852, the Springfield, Massachusetts-based leader in the design and manufacture of firearms and related products adds this sponsorship to a long list of other such partnerships with NSSF.
“We could not be happier to have Smith & Wesson continue their support for our industry’s retailers through its Platinum sponsorship of our dozen Retailer Seminars taking place in 2015,” said Patrick Shay, NSSF Director, Retail Development. “This sponsorship follows on the heels of Smith & Wesson’s generous Platinum sponsorship of the 2015 SHOT Show University and truly shows how committed this company is to the continuing education of our industry’s retailers and helping them maintain the highest level of compliance possible. Simply put, this is a company leading by example.”
James Debney, President and CEO of Smith & Wesson, said, “We are honored to sponsor this annual seminar series, which helps our industry’s retailers to enhance their knowledge of compliance standards and best practices. By delivering important information and expertise about critical business processes, the series is a valuable resource for our industry and a must for retailers who want to grow. We are proud to serve as this year’s Platinum Sponsor and support the NSSF in its ongoing work to promote, protect and preserve the hunting and shooting sports.”
NSSF’s Retailer Seminars are open to all FFL holders. These afternoon classes focus on ATF compliance issues with an emphasis on form 4473 error-proofing, best inventory practices, NICS background check processes, recognizing and preventing straw purchase transactions and more. During these seminars, attendees have the opportunity to interact directly with one of NSSF’s FFL Compliance Consultant team members and exchange ideas with other retailers.
This year NSSF will host 12 Retailer Seminars across the nation. Attendance is free to NSSF members and $100 for non-members. For a full list of seminar dates and locations, click here. Click here to learn more about the benefits of being an NSSF member and join.
