Retailer Education Seminars Starting Soon

Despite the record snowfalls in the areas surrounding NSSF’s offices in Newtown, Connecticut, the calendar does tell us spring is just a few short weeks away. That means NSSF will be kicking off the first of a dozen Retailer Education Seminars around the country.

These invaluable compliance-oriented sessions provide retailers and range owners across the country the opportunity to meet face to face with NSSF’s FFL Compliance Consultants, learn about the latest ATF regulations and have their questions about Form 4473 error-proofing, straw purchase prevention, National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) processes and other topics answered in a highly informative and interactive setting.

“Our Retailer Seminars get bigger and better every year,” said Randy Clark, NSSF Managing Director, Business Development. “Whether they’re just getting started as a new retail establishment of have earned their stripes with decades of experience, past attendees have told us this is one of the best opportunities they have to perfect their compliance planning. In fact, many also tell us they attend the seminar in their area every year, each time coming away with new information that helps them run their business better and emphasizing that they gain a tremendous amount of insight into all facets of firearms retailing by exchanging ideas and tips with other retailers in their region.”

This year’s first Retailer Seminar will be held in Corpus Christi, Texas, on April 13 followed by:

  • Anaheim, California—April 20
  • New Orleans, Louisiana—May 11
  • Atlanta, Georgia—May 18
  • Little Rock, Arkansas—June 16
  • Fairfax, Virginia—June 23
  • Detroit Michigan—July 13
  • Buffalo, New York—July 21
  • Bellevue, Washington—August 11
  • Milwaukee, Wisconsin—August 18
  • Dayton, Ohio—September 15
  • Philadelphia, Pennsylvania—September 22

Invitations to attend each state’s seminar are sent to all FFL holders in the state 45 days prior to the event and include directions for registering. Remember, attendance at NSSF Retailer Seminars is complimentary to NSSF members; non-member Federal Firearms Licensees (FFLs) may attend for $100. With NSSF memberships beginning at $75, NSSF encourages all retail and range FFLs to join NSSF and plan to attend the 2015 seminar in their region or state.
