O.F. Mossberg & Sons Contributes
$150,000 to NSSF’s 2016 #GUNVOTE
Voter Education Campaign
NEWTOWN, Conn. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the trade association for the firearms industry, is pleased to announce that O.F. Mossberg & Sons has joined #GUNVOTE’s President’s Club, committing $150,000 in support of the association’s critical voter registration and education campaign. This is the largest donation the #GUNVOTE campaign has received to date.
Founded in 1919 by Oscar Frederick Mossberg and his two sons Iver and Harold, Mossberg is the oldest family-owned and -operated firearms manufacturer in the U.S. Originally located in New Haven, Connecticut, Mossberg first produced a four-barreled .22-caliber handgun known as the “Brownie.” Nearly 100 years and millions of firearms later, Mossberg’s extensive offerings of durable American-made firearms include the renowned 500® line of pump-action shotguns, the 930TM line of semi-auto shotguns and a wide variety of well-respected, highly accurate PatriotTM and MVP® rifles, among others.
“Mossberg’s tremendous contribution to #GUNVOTE comes at a crucial juncture in this election year, as the parties’ nominating conventions have begun,” said Lawrence Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President and General Counsel. “With this commitment, NSSF as the industry’s voice will be better able to help ensure that gun owners, hunters and target shooters are registered to vote, informed about where the candidates stand on the Second Amendment, the future of the Supreme Court, on gun control and wildlife conservation policy issues and, on Election Day, armed with that information, will go to the polls and #GUNVOTE.”
“November could bring great change to our industry, no matter the outcome for President,” said A. Iver Mossberg, Jr., CEO and great-grandson of company founder Oscar F. Mossberg. “We at Mossberg are pleased to be able to help educate voters about issues facing our industry, the shooting sports and the very survival of the Second Amendment, as well as provide them the information they need to register to vote.”
NSSF’s #GUNVOTE is a voter registration and education campaign platform for use by firearms industry manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, retailers and media members, as well as the pro-Second Amendment consumer. #GUNVOTE — www.gunvote.org — provides vital information on the hundreds of pro-gun and anti-gun candidates up for election in 2016, as well links to polling places and voter registration, election news, voter education video resources and more. Industry members are strongly encouraged to download the #GUNVOTE button for their websites and social media use and order #GUNVOTE decals for distribution to family, friends and customers.
