NSSF Welcomes OSHA Expert Erica Moncayo to Fall Lead Management and OSHA Compliance Workshop Speaker Lineup
NEWTOWN, Conn.—The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the trade association for the firearms industry, is pleased to announce that Erica Moncayo will be presenting a seminar dedicated to all things OSHA as they relate to firearms ranges at the 2016 fall Lead Management and OSHA Compliance Workshop. The workshop will take place October 16-18, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Moncayo brings to the program her MBA education and position as a risk and safety consultant for Worker’s Compensation. She holds dual certifications as a Specialist in Safety and Health (SSH) in General Industry and Construction and as a Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO), and she is also an OSHA-authorized General Industry and Construction trainer through the University of Texas at Arlington. With nearly a decade of experience addressing and abating OSHA citations, Moncayo works to help her clients save hundreds of thousands of dollars in potential OSHA compliance fines by identifying hazards and developing and implementing effective safety and health programs. In her work she has assisted numerous shooting ranges in developing, implementing and training on the required OSHA standards, creating standard operating procedures and designing employee policies, while also providing EPA compliance guidance.
“We are very pleased to have Erica deliver a presentation at this workshop,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Manager, Shooting Promotions. “She has a deep and detailed knowledge of what it takes for a firearms range to pass a complex OSHA inspection and the hands-on experience to back it, and that’s something every attendee to this workshop will appreciate at day’s end.”
“I am both honored and privileged to provide such valuable information on topics that I am passionate about,” said Moncayo. “As an authorized OSHA outreach trainer, I always provide the following quote to my students, which I find to be effective in conveying the importance of safety in any industry: ‘By protecting yourself, you are protecting your employer. By protecting your employer, you are protecting your job. By protecting your job, you are protecting your family.’ It’s an important statement I hope will be conveyed through this workshop.”
