NSSF Visits with Former U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte on Judge Kavanaugh Confirmation

National Shooting Sports Foundation’s Mark Oliva recently visited the Live Free or Die State to speak with former U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) at NSSF-member New England Upland Shooting Preserve in Hillsborough, N.H. to get insights to what’s happening as Judge Brett Kavanaugh prepares for his confirmation hearings on Sept. 4. Sen. Ayotte has had a front-row view of history. She was New Hampshire’s state attorney general who took a case to the U.S. Supreme Court, served in the Senate where she considered confirmation for judicial nominees to federal courts, and served as President Donald Trump’s “sherpa” for Justice Neil Gorsuch through his confirmation less than two years ago.

This first in a short series of videos gives NSSF a glimpse into what it takes to prepare a Supreme Court nominee, what is discussed in meetings with senators who will ultimately vote, and the importance of getting to know the person who is nominated to serve for life on the nation’s highest court.
