NSSF Statement on Michael J. Sullivan Relationship

In a recent political debate in Boston, a claim was made that Michael J. Sullivan, the former United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts who also served as the acting Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), has been a lobbyist for the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). This claim is simply untrue.

Mr. Sullivan has never been retained by NSSF to lobby on our behalf, either at the state or federal level. Mr. Sullivan has been retained specifically to provide legal counsel to NSSF and to engage in outreach to the law enforcement community.
