NSSF First Shots Big City Tour to
Roll into Dallas Area
6 Ranges to Host Introduction to Target Shooting Seminars
DALLAS — Participation in target shooting is at an all-time high, and newcomers will be able to see what all the excitement is about by attending a free First Shots® seminar at one of six Dallas-area target-shooting facilities May 1 through 3.
The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), which developed First Shots, and the shooting facilities have made it easy for people to acquire an introduction to target shooting and firearms safety by scheduling several First Shots events over the three days around the Dallas area.
The Dallas events are the latest stop on the First Shots “Big City Tour,” which has brought the program to Atlanta, Chicago, Miami, Sacramento, Washington, D.C., and other major cities across the country.
“First Shots seminars provide an introduction to safe and responsible handgun shooting and firearms storage,” said NSSF First Shots Manager Tisma Juett. “Each seminar covers laws and regulations, emphasizes the value of proper training and puts participants on the firing line with certified instructors so they can experience the fun of target shooting.”
First Shots seminars are open to men and women 21 years of age and older. A parent or legal guardian must accompany anyone between 20 and the minimum age of 18. Those attending the Dallas seminars will learn about handguns and will fire .22-caliber ammunition.
The First Shots program, developed by NSSF, has provided a supportive introduction to firearms ownership to thousands of people in hundreds of seminars nationwide. According to program research, half the individuals who have attended the seminars go on to meet their local requirements for handgun ownership and have introduced another person to their newfound sport of target shooting.
