NSSF Awards Five-Star Rating to Magnum Shooting Center

NEWTOWN, Conn. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the trade association for the firearms industry, is pleased to announce that it has presented its highest Five-Star rating for range excellence to Magnum Shooting Center.

5-Star Magnum Shooting CenterLocated in the thriving metropolitan area of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Magnum Shooting Center sports 30 indoor firearms lanes, including six that stretch to 100 yards, all of which are open to club members and the general public. Operating seven days a week, the range accommodates handgun, shotgun, rifle and full-auto use. A spacious 4,000 square-foot retail center and a full-service web store meet the equipment, ammunition and firearms needs of the range’s active membership clientele, as does an on-site gunsmith.

A favorite location in this busy city of more than 700,000 for parties and corporate events, Magnum Shooting Center ensures that entertainment is at the forefront with a number of special packages, including “Fast and Furious,” “Bonnie and Clyde,” and bachelor and bachelorette parties, and even a “Plinker” party for those who love rimfire shooting. Each package includes a variety of standard and full-auto firearms, ammunition, eye and ear protection and targets for the party’s guests to use. The popularity of the parties and events is matched only by the range’s instructional curriculum, with classes geared for youth and women, concealed carry instruction and private lessons to ammunition reloading, medical training and knife handling skills. An entire tier of rifle classes supports the high interest area residents have in modern sporting rifles, action shooting sports, tactical skills and big-game hunting.

“We are grateful for being recognized as having achieved NSSF’s Five-Star rating,” said Todd Lockburner owner of Magnum Shooting Center. “Our success is due to the amazing community of Colorado Springs and our staff that is second to none. The experience our customers and members receive is proof of the passion our employees have for Magnum, its customers and this great industry.”

“Magnum Shooting Center is one that has put an emphasis on incorporating the ‘wow factor’ in everything it does,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Director, Retail & Range Business Development. “With everything it has to offer, there’s little doubt why the parking lot is packed from open to close, and that is exactly the type of range that merits our Five-Star rating for excellence.”

NSSF’s highly respected Star-Rating Range Program works to encourage ranges of all sizes and locations to excel. Applying for rating requires answering a comprehensive questionnaire and business owner self-evaluation of the facilities, staff, community outreach and other criteria. Ranges that appear to meet the criteria for Four- or Five-Star rating receive an on-site evaluation by NSSF staff. NSSF member ranges that merit a Three-Star rating are recognized for being a part of the Star-Rating range family and are provided guidance to improve their facilities and achieve the higher two ratings.
