NSSF Awards Five-Star Range Rating to Firearms Range & Clothing of Baton Rouge

NEWTOWN, Conn. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the firearms industry trade association, is pleased to announce that it has awarded its Five-Star rating for range excellence to Firearms Range & Clothing of Baton Rouge.

NSSF Awards Five-Star Range Rating to Firearms Range & Clothing of Baton RougeThis modern, climate-controlled indoor shooting facility, located in the southern Louisiana city of Baton Rouge, is open seven days a week and features seven shooting lanes backed by an impressive 5,000 square-foot retail space. A robust rental gun program is the foundation for the range’s “try before you buy” approach to sales, and a multi-tiered membership program offers something for every budget. In addition, the range offers a variety of training programs from first-time firearms owner safety introductions and concealed carry classes, to advanced force-on-force training in their 15,000 square foot shoot house, personal protection in the home, wound trauma training and even firearms history classes.

“We were very impressed with this facility, which made a mark in the Baton Rouge shooting community with an intelligent design that allowed it to thrive among other range/retailers with more established footprints,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Director, Range Services. “It was a very smart way to stand out in a competitive market, and it paid off. Thanks to its outstanding reputation, especially for its well-thought-out educational offerings, FRC is now in the process of a carefully tailored expansion of both its shooting range and its retail facility to meet demand.”

“FRC Range sets the bar very high for the management and staff, and customer service is their top priority,” said John Hanchey, FRC’s General Manager. “Shooters visiting FRC will find that they are strangers only once. We do our absolute best to foster a sense of community here, and our staff members work very hard to get to know our customers and their individual needs. We genuinely care about the people that shoot with us, and it shows.”

NSSF’s highly respected Star-Rating Range Program works to encourage ranges of all sizes and locations to excel. Applying for rating requires answering a comprehensive questionnaire and business owner self-evaluation of the facilities, staff, community outreach and other criteria. Ranges that appear to meet the criteria for Four- or Five-Star rating receive an on-site evaluation by NSSF staff. NSSF Member ranges that meet a Three-Star rating are recognized for being a part of the Star-Rating range family and are provided guidance to improve their facilities and achieve the higher two ratings.
