Mayor Bloomberg to Appear Tomorrow Before Senate Committee Urging Gun Control

The Senate Committee on Homeland Security will hold a hearing tomorrow (Wednesday, May 5) on how the federal government can prevent suspected terrorists from obtaining firearms.

The hearing will focus largely on the so-called terrorist watch list and feature testimony from New York City Mayor and gun-control activist Michael Bloomberg and Daniel Roberts, assistant director of the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services Division.

Representatives from NSSF will be in attendance. We expect Mayor Bloomberg to use his time in front of the committee to discuss his coalition's (Mayors Against Illegal Guns) blueprint for federal gun control. The Senate committee does not have jurisdiction to consider legislation to enact the changes Mayor Bloomberg seeks.
