HBO Will Allow Ammo Company’s Logo in Fight Saturday

tulammoIn a turn of events, following an NSSF news post circulated widely in the press, Light Heavyweight World Champion Sergey Kovalev will be allowed to display the logo of Tulammo USA on his trunks when he defends his title against Nadjib Mohammedi in a live broadcast on HBO Saturday, his sponsors tell NSSF.

Earlier this week, Kovalev’s sponsors relayed a message to NSSF that HBO was demanding that Kovalev remove the Tulammo logo from his boxing trunks for Saturday’s fight. HBO denies that claim.

Tulammo USA is an ammunition manufacturer based in Round Rock, Texas. Kovalev has close ties to both the U.S. presence and its parent company, the Russia-based Tula Cartridge Works. The Russia-born fighter made an appearance at Tulammo’s booth during NSSF’s 2015 SHOT Show, signing autographs for the crowd.

Kovalev, named Ring Magazine’s Fighter of the Year in 2014, is currently undefeated. The fight kicks off at 10 p.m. Eastern.
