GunBroker.com NASCAR Drivers Race for Gun Safety and Project ChildSafe
At NSSF, we know who we’ll be rooting for at the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race Friday night at Daytona International Speedway. It will be the No. 24 Chevrolet Silverado owned by NTS Motorsports and driven by GunBroker.com-sponsored drivers John King and Brennan Newberry.
The reason we’re excited about this race is that the drivers will raise $24 for every lap they run in the Top 10 to help promote gun safety through Project ChildSafe, the national firearm safety education program sponsored by NSSF. Though you never take anything for granted in a NASCAR race, we do like our fundraising chances in the NextEra Energy Resources 250 because King took the checkered flag last year and Newberry is the pole sitter for this year’s race.
We’re grateful to GunBroker.com, the world’s largest online auction site for firearms and related accessories, for generously picking Project ChildSafe as the charity to potentially benefit from a good showing by King and Newberry.
The race will air live on Friday, Feb. 21, on Fox Sports 1 at 7:30 p.m.
Project ChildSafe makes available firearm safety kits that include a gun lock to every law enforcement department in the country free of charge, and has distributed more than 36 million safety kits in the last 15 years.
