Colorado’s Centennial Gun Club Earns Highest NSSF Approval Rating

NEWTOWN, Conn.—The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the trade association for the firearms industry, is pleased to announce that it has awarded Colorado’s Centennial Gun Club its highest Five-Star rating for range excellence. Located in the town of Centennial, an active southeast suburb of Denver noted for being one of the safest cities in the country, Centennial Gun Club was founded in 2012 by Richard Abramson.

“We have long been admirers of this range and its team of professionals,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Director, Shooting Range Services. “The facility is modern and inviting, something we’d expect with ranges meeting our Five-Star rating, but what really sets Centennial apart from the competition are its outstanding marketing initiatives—some of the most forward-thinking we’ve seen—and its innovative membership offerings. This is a range others can look to when endeavoring to make improvements beyond the nuts and bolts of the shooting facility itself.”

Centennial Gun Club boasts an impressive 44 shooting lanes that run to 25 yards. All can accommodate pistols and shotguns, as well as rifles firing up to .50 BMG. The climate-controlled range is open seven days a week, and shooting lane reservations can be made up to two weeks ahead of time. One of the facility’s biggest draws is its customer-programmable target system in which targets can be made to turn, run or disappear. A 5,000 square-foot full-service firearms retail pro shop, an extensive training curriculum, gunsmithing services and a busy calendar of range events are just some of the range’s other amenities, and Centennial also offers its facilities to those who want to host their own events there. The facility was voted the Independent Retailer of the Year at the 2017 SHOT Show.

Though open to the public, it is Centennial’s membership options that keep customers active and engaged. Seven different membership tiers are offered, including those for couples, families and corporations, plus a special membership for law-enforcement professionals. Memberships come with a wealth of benefits, such as free handgun rentals, free guest passes, special members-only sales, reduced firearm transfer fees, express range check-in, a variety of free classes and special events and even discounts at area businesses with which Centennial has partnered.

“We are honored to be named a Five-Star Range by the NSSF,” said Richard Abramson. “In establishing the rating system, our industry association set a high standard to achieve the Five-Star Rating. Our team took a lot of pride in making sure that Centennial Gun Club meets and exceeds the highest expectations of both the NSSF and of our members and guests.”

NSSF’s highly respected Star-Rating Range Program works to encourage ranges of all sizes and locations to excel. Applying for rating requires answering a comprehensive questionnaire and providing the business owner’s self-evaluation of the facilities, staff, community outreach and other criteria. Ranges that appear to meet the criteria for Four- or Five-Star ratings receive an onsite evaluation by NSSF staff. NSSF member ranges that meet a Three-Star rating are recognized for being a part of the Star-Rating range family and are given guidance to improve their facilities in working to achieve the two higher ratings.
