Co-Sponsorship of Excise Tax Reform Legislation Increases 42 percent following NSSF Congressional Fly-In
Since the NSSF Congressional Fly, held less than a month ago, the number of co-sponsors of the firearms and ammunition excise tax reform legislation (S. 632) has increased 42 percent. The latest senator to co-sponsor this pro-business, pro-conservation and bi-partisan legislation is Jim Risch (R-ID). He joins the ranks of Sens. Kent Conrad (D-ND), Roger F. Wicker (R-MS), Ben Nelson (D-Neb.), Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.), John McCain (R-Ariz), Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn), Tom Coburn (R-OK) and James Inhofe (R-OK), all of whom came on as co-sponsors following the Fly-In.
The total number of sponsors / co-sponsors and those who have agreed to co-sponsor S. 632 is now 27. Companion legislation (HR 510) in the House has 116 co-sponsors, with Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA) coming on yesterday.
