Calling All Law Enforcement: Special Use-of-Force Seminar Added to 2017 SHOT Show

I’m pleased to announce that as part of our continuing efforts to expand the educational offerings for law enforcement and military personnel attending the SHOT Show, NSSF will be co-sponsoring the National Tactical Officers Association’s (NTOA’s) one-day Legal and Use-of-Force Seminar. This special event is being held Monday, January 16, the day before the start of the show and is an ideal seminar to attend for those in the law enforcement community traveling to Las Vegas to attend our Law Enforcement Educational Program sessions.

ntoaA press release from NTOA explained more about this seminar, saying, “Eugene Ramirez of the Los Angeles-based law firm Manning & Kass, Ellrod, Ramirez, Trester, LLP, will speak on legal issues as they relate to law enforcement. Sergeant Jamie Borden of the Henderson (Nevada) Police Department and advanced specialist and senior instructor for the Force Science Institute will address law enforcement use of force and human dynamics.”

The new “Legal and Use-of-Force Seminar” will take place in the Chancellor Ballroom of the Embassy Suites, located at 3600 Paradise Road in Las Vegas, less than one mile from the Sands Expo Center. Reservations to attend are $79 for both NSSF Members and non-members, but seating is limited and already filling quickly, so reserve your place today. Questions about this seminar? Contact Laura Gerhart at 800-279-9127 ext. 128 or lauragerhart@ntoa.org.

Registration to attend the 2017 SHOT Show is now open. Qualifying law enforcement and military personnel may register for our Law Enforcement Education Program for a one-time fee of $25 after completing their registration to attend the show, and that registration fee provides an all-access pass to the program’s three days of sessions. NTOA will be presenting three seminars as part of the program, including:

  • Active Shooter Update and the Advanced Police Officer
  • Responding to Complex Coordinated Terror Assaults
  • Building Contemporary SWAT Training and Education Programs

Law enforcement and military members attending the show are also invited to join us Monday night, January 16, the evening before the show opens, for a complimentary Meet & Greet mixer sponsored by Daniel Defense. The 2017 SHOT Show begins on Tuesday, January 17 and runs through Friday January 20. For more information, visit SHOTShow.org.
