For anyone in our industry currently working with Great Britain on exporting or importing firearms, as well as those exploring the possibility of working with this exciting market, our Retailer Seminar “Guidance on U.K./U.S. Legislation and Explanation of U.K. Firearms Legislation” is one you will not want to miss.

This is the first time we’ve designed a Retailer Seminar around this unique market, and we are fortunate to have none other than John Batley, Director of GTA Exhibitions, Ltd., England’s firearms trade association and counterpart to NSSF, leading this session. GTA is an old organization, begun in 1912. In his role as director of the organization, a position he’s held for the last 17 years, Batley brings 50 years of shooting and firearms expertise to the table as he helps to guide firearms legislation through his country’s government officials. He specializes in the guidance of import and exports of firearms, explosives licensing and firearms transportation, and he also works closely with the 43 U.K. police constabulary bodies and is frequently involved in firearms legislation matters brought before the European Union (E.U.) in Brussels.

The session “Guidance on U.K./U.S. Legislation and Explanation of U.K. Firearms Legislation” will take place Wednesday, January 18 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. During this special presentation, Batley will cover an explanation of UK firearms legislation, including what firearms U.K. citizens may acquire, possess and use and how these items are licensed and controlled in that country. The session will also touch on import procedures and documentation for firearms from the U.S. to the U.K. and the European Union, as well as export procedures from the UK to the E.U. and further afield.  This session will wrap up with a discussion covering physical carriage and transport of firearms to and from the U.K., E.U. and U.S.

Registration for the 2017 SHOT Show is now open. Once you have successfully registered to attend the show, you may add this seminar to your shopping cart by logging into your dashboard at www.SHOTShow.org. The seminar is $25 for both NSSF Members and non-members, and all FFLs, especially manufacturers, are encouraged to attend.
