ATF Issues Ruling Allowing Manufacturers to Consolidate Records

ATF has issued Ruling 2010-8 which will allow manufacturers to consolidate their records. Previously, ATF required both a record of manufacturing and of disposition (27 CFR 478.123).  Complying with these redundant measures placed an unnecessary burden on manufacturers. Now, a single record can be maintained as long as the conditions set forth are met.

This ruling is welcomed by industry and represents a clear outgrowth of our ongoing dialogue with ATF.  NSSF is expecting another ruling on manufacturing to come out soon.
