ATF Extends Timeframe to Comply with Ruling 2013-5


The following is a special advisory issued today by ATF:

On Dec. 17, 2013, ATF issued Ruling 2013-5. It enables federal firearms licensees (FFLs) to maintain their firearms acquisition and disposition records electronically and gave FFLs until June 15, 2014 to comply with the requirements. It has come to ATF’s attention a number of FFLs need additional time in order to meet the requirements of the ruling. As a result, ATF is extending the date 120 days to Oct. 15, 2014.
