2016 SHOT Show Retailer Seminars — Are You Cashing in on Suppressors?

Without a doubt, the growing demand for suppressors is looking to be one of the biggest things to hit retailers in decades. As recent legislation in many states has loosened up restrictions on ownership and regulations that permit hunting with these tools, retailers everywhere are in the unique position to capitalize on what is truly an emerging market. Think of it like the introduction of the first iPhone—and we all know the market for that product has done anything but peaked.

If you’re a retailer in one of the now 41 states that have enacted legislation to ease suppressor ownership or extended existing laws to permit more hunting with them, then it’s time to get in on what is really the ground floor and reap the profits. To help you get started, we created our Retailer Seminar “Make Money Selling NFA Products.” NFA products, which include short-barreled rifles (SBRs), short-barreled shotguns (SBSs), full-auto firearms, and curios and relics that fall under NFA regulations in addition to suppressors, represent a niche market, but it can be one that makes up with greater margins what it lacks in volume. With “Make Money Selling NFA Products,” you’ll learn about the licensing needed to start selling these products, marketing tips to help your customers through their paperwork and address the issues of wait-time expectations, and the ins and outs of the more complex compliance issues related to these unique firearms and accessories.

This special two-hour seminar will be moderated by NSSF Compliance Consultant team member and former ATF Deputy Assistant Director Wally Nelson, and Travis Glover, Compliance Management Officer for Lipsey’s. Due to demand, we will also present this session twice. The first session will take place Wednesday, Jan. 20, from 9 to 11 a.m. The second session has been scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 20, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Both sessions will be held in the Lando Ballroom, Room 4302 of the Venetian. Tickets to either session are just $25. To register for this event and purchase seating, log in to your dashboard at shotshow.org after applying to attend the 2016 SHOT Show and add this course to your shopping cart.
