13th Annual FMG Shooting Industry Masters Hits the Mark

The 13th Annual FMG Shooting Industry Masters, held this past weekend at Claythorne Lodge in Columbus, Kansas, hit the mark once again in bringing some 300 industry luminaries together to raise money for the NSSF First Shots program and USA Shooting. Over the past seven years, the Shooting Industry Masters has raised nearly $350,000 to help fund First Shots, which, since its inception, has introduced more than 50,000 people to shooting and generated $15 million in industry sales. Proceeds in the amount of $57,600 were awarded to the First Shots program from this year’s event. USA Shooting, the governing body for U.S. Olympic firearms competition, was awarded $14,050.

Successful fundraising like this is a testament to FMG’s commitment to expanding our industry’s customer base and to helping our Olympic shooting sports athletes bring home medals, while at the same time bringing attention to the responsible and enjoyable recreational use of firearms. The Shooting Industry Masters is also an example of how our industry can come together to work for a common goal and have, well, a lot of fun while doing it.

With 64 companies offering sponsorships and 53 additional industry businesses stepping up to offer their support in the way of raffle prize packages and a record-matching 17 side matches that on their own raised $20,000, that’s no small commitment—but the returns are enormous. For every dollar invested in First Shots, $11 are generated in industry sales.

We appreciate FMG’s continued leadership, the support of the sponsors and the incredible staff and volunteers at Claythorne Lodge who helped make the 13th Annual Shooting Industry Masters a smash hit. Many thanks to all participated.
